Le Mans at Francorchamps, brilliant!

Following on from the highly successful Legend Boucles de Spa, I’m truly proud as an organiser to present, with the Le Mans Series, another historic billboard for the 1000 km of Spa, with the expected Homeric duel between the Peugeot and Audi works teams.
With the exception of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and this will be its main dress rehearsal, we had not come across such a grid in the endurance world for at least a decade and definitely not since reviving our event back in 2003.
Because linked to the quantity with some sixty muscle cars entered (which risks to be pretty heated on our splendid 7 km circuit!), there is the quality at the level of the cars, the teams as also the drivers in the five categories. Apart from the Belgian Grand Prix, this is the only time in the year where you have the opportunity to admire some fifteen or so former F1 drivers hard at work, amongst which four previous winners, the former World Champion Nigel Mansell and the recent poleman of the GP of Francorchamps, Giancarlo Fisichella. Add to these the new Monsieur Le Mans Tom Kristensen, the quadruple Indy champion Sébastien Bourdais not forgetting our very own Vanina Ickx who will be heading up the Belgian colony.
From zero in 2009, this year we have at least eight representatives with the charming Lola Aston-Martin driver, as also Bas Leinders and such young drivers as Julien Schroyen and Nicolas De Crem. Without taking into account André Lotterer, this young German who grew up here, in the region of Châtelet, and who proved himself in the Sarthe last year to such a point as to being tenured in one of the three official Audi cars.
Not only the Belgian but also the foreign public with ticket reservations emanating from as far afield as Japan and Brazil can’t be wrong. And should the weather be on our side I hope that we will beat all crowd records and enjoy a sprint of just over 1000 km. The level between Peugeot and Audi is so high that there is no time to lose and only one strategy: purely going flat out!
Enjoy.
